The Bell Deep - part 2

 The deepest part is right opposite the old nunnery.

가장 깊은 부분이 오래된 수녀원의 바로 반대편이다.

It is called the Bell Deep,

그곳은 벨딥이라고 불린다.

and it is there that the Merman lives.

그리고 남자 인어가 사는 곳이 바로 거기다.

By day, when the sun shines through the water,

낮에는, 태양이 물속을 비출 때,

he sleeps,

그는 잠을 잔다,

but on clear, starry, or moonlit nights

하지만 맑거나, 별이 빛나거나, 달 밝은 밤에는

he comes forth.

그는 밖으로 나온다.

He is very old;

그는 매우 나이가 들었다

Grandmother has heard of him

할머니는 그에 대해 들었다,

from her grandmother,

그네의 할머니로 부터

she says;

라고 그녀가 말했다

and he lives a lonely life,

그리고 그는 외로운 삶을 산다,

with hardly anyone to speak to

거의 대화할 어떤 누구도 없이

except the big old church bell.

크고 오래된 교회의 종을 제외하고는

It used to hang up in the steeple of the church,

그 종은 교회의 뾰족탑에 걸려있곤 했다,

but now no trace is left

하지만 지금 어떤 흔적도 남겨지지 않았다

either of the steeple or of the church itself,

뾰족탑이든 교회 그 자체든

which used to be called St. Alban's.

그리고 그 교회는 St. Alban's 라고 불려지곤 했다.
