THE FARMER AND THE STORK

농부와 황새

A Stork of a very simple and trusting nature had been asked by a gay party of Cranes to visit a field that had been newly planted.

매우 순수하고 잘 믿는 성질의 황새 한 마리가 새로이 경작된 밭에 방문하라고 흥겨운 학의 한 무리에 의해 초대 받았다.

But the party ended dismally with all the birds entangled in the meshes of the Farmer's net.

하지만 그 무리는 침울하게 농부의 그물망에 걸려버렸습니다.

The Stork begged the Farmer to spare him.

황새는 농부에게 용서해달라고 간청합니다.

"Please let me go," he pleaded.

"저를 풀어주세요," 그가 간청했어요.

"I belong to the Stork family who you know are honest and birds of good character.

당신도 알다시피 저는 정직하고 착한 성격의 황새 가족에 속해 있습니다.

Besides, I did not know the Cranes were going to steal."

게다가, 저는 그 학들이 도둑질 하려고 하는지 몰랐어요.

"You may be a very good bird," answered the Farmer,

"당신은 매우 좋은 새일 수도 있겠군요," 그 농부가 대답했다.

"but I caught you with the thieving Cranes and you will have to share the same  with them."

"하지만 당신을 도둑질하는 학들과 함께 잡았고 당신은 그들과 똑같은 것을 분담해야만 할 것입니다."
