늑대와 양치기
A Wolf passing by,
옆을 지나가던, 한 늑대가
saw some shepherds in a hut
한 오두막에서 몇몇의 양치기들을 봤다.
eating for their dinner a haunch of mutton.
양고기의 허리와 다리 부분을 먹고 있는 것을
Approaching them, he said:
그들에게 다가가면서, 그가 말했다:
"What a clamor you would raise,
"당신들이 어떤 야유를 제기할 지!"
if I were to do as you are doing!"
만약에 내가 당신들이 하고 있는 것처럼 그러면,
Men are too apt to condemn in others the very things they practice themselves.
사람들은 그들이 스스로 실행하는 바로 그것을 다른 사람들에게서 너무 비난하는 경향이 있다.
