A Cock, scratching for food for himself and his hens,
그 자신과 그의 암탉을 위해서 음식을 긁어 모으고 있던 한 수탁이
found a precious stone;
귀중한 돌을 발견했다;
on which he said:
그 돌 위에서 그가 말했다 :
"If thy owner had found thee,
"만약에 너의 주인이 너를 발견했다면,
and not I, he would have taken thee up,
그러면 내가 아니라, 그가 너를 집어 올렸을 것이다,
and have set thee in thy first estate;
그리고 너를 제1 신분으로 놓았을 것이다;
but I have found thee for no purpose.
하지만 내가 목적 없이 너를 찾았다.
I would rather have one barleycorn than all the jewels in the world."
