The Two Pots

두 개의 항아리

A river carried down in its stream two Pots,
한 강이 그 물결에서 두 개의 항아리를 날랐다,
one made of earthenware,
점토로 만들어진 하나와,
and the other of brass.
놋쇠로 만들어진 하나
As they floated along on the surface of the stream,
그들이 그 물결의 표면 위를 따라서 떠다닐 때,
the Earthen Pot said to the Brass Pot:
흙으로 만든 항아리가 놋쇠로 만든 항아리에게 말했다:
"Pray keep at a distance,
"제발 거리를 유지하세요,
and do not come near me,
그리고 제 근처로 오지 마세요,
for if you touch me ever so slightly,
왜냐하면 만약에 당신이 한 번이라도 아주 가볍게 저를 만지면,
I shall be broken in pieces;
저는 산산조각으로 부서질 것입니다;
and besides,
그리고 게다가,
I by no means wish to come near you."
저는 결코 당신과 가까이 있고 싶지 않아요."
